You Break It You Fix It - 60s
Tommy Mello tells the origin story of how he got started fixing garage doors: as a kid he played hockey in the driveway, threw "every ball imaginable" at the family's garage door, and opened and closed it so many times it drove his parents crazy, until one day the rollers fell out of the tracks and the springs snapped. After a lecture, his dad -- also known as "Mr. Fix-It" -- told him "you break it, you fix it," made him buy quality parts with his own allowance, and supervised him the whole time so the door was fixed right, no matter how long it took. He calls it maybe the best lesson his dad ever gave him, and says "25 years later, I now teach my staff what it takes to properly service, repair, and maintain garage doors," closing on fast same-day service and scheduling online at a1garage.com.
