Why it matters
Over the years, dust, pet dander, pollen, and construction debris collect inside your ductwork. After a renovation, a pest problem, water intrusion that led to mold, or simply a system that's never been cleaned, that buildup can restrict airflow and circulate contaminants. We help you decide when cleaning is genuinely worthwhile — and do it thoroughly when it is.
How it works
Professional duct cleaning uses a powerful negative-air vacuum to put the duct system under suction, then agitation tools (brushes and compressed-air whips) to dislodge debris from the duct walls so it's pulled into the vacuum rather than into your home. The supply and return runs, registers, and the air handler are all addressed for the cleaning to actually matter.
Maintenance that pays off
Duct cleaning is an as-needed service, not an annual one. The most important ongoing maintenance is changing your air filter on schedule (every 1–3 months for a 1" filter), keeping the coil clean, and addressing any moisture source. We'll give you an honest recommendation rather than selling cleaning you don't need.
Signs you need service
- Visible dust or debris blowing from the supply registers
- A musty or stale smell when the system runs
- Recent remodeling or drywall work that sent dust into the system
- Evidence of rodents or insects in the ductwork
- Mold growth near vents or on the air handler (moisture problem)
- Ducts that have never been cleaned in a very old home
Common problems we fix
- Restricted airflow from heavy dust accumulation
- Mold growth where ducts have been exposed to moisture
- Debris and nesting material left by rodents or insects
- Leaky duct connections that pull in attic dust (sealing helps more than cleaning here)
- Construction dust and drywall debris after remodeling
What affects the cost
- Number of supply and return vents
- Size and complexity of the duct system
- Level of contamination and accessibility
- Whether sanitizing or duct sealing is added
