Why it matters

Too few outlets, dead receptacles, ungrounded two-prong plugs, and a tangle of extension cords aren't just inconvenient — they're a safety and code issue. Whether you need new outlets, GFCI protection in wet areas, dedicated circuits for big appliances, or switch and wiring updates, professional work keeps your home safe and code-compliant.

How it works

We add and replace outlets and switches, install GFCI and AFCI protection where code requires it, run dedicated circuits for high-draw appliances, and correct unsafe or outdated wiring. New receptacles are wired and grounded properly, and protective devices are placed where they belong — GFCIs in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor areas; AFCIs protecting living-space circuits.

Signs you need service

  • Relying on power strips and extension cords for everyday use
  • Two-prong, ungrounded outlets
  • Dead outlets or ones that feel warm
  • No GFCI protection near sinks, in bathrooms, or outdoors
  • A large appliance that needs its own dedicated circuit
  • Scorched, discolored, or loose outlets and switches

Common problems we fix

  • Too few circuits, leading to overload and tripping
  • Ungrounded two-prong outlets in older homes
  • Missing GFCI protection in wet locations
  • Backstabbed or loose connections causing heat
  • High-draw appliances sharing circuits they shouldn't

Safety first

  • Don't overload outlets with multiple high-draw devices or daisy-chained strips
  • Replace any outlet that's warm, scorched, or loose — and stop using it until you do
  • Use GFCI protection anywhere water is near electricity
  • Don't defeat the ground prong on a three-prong plug
  • Have aluminum or older wiring evaluated by a licensed electrician

What affects the cost

  • Number of outlets or switches
  • New circuit/wiring runs vs. simple replacement
  • GFCI/AFCI protection and dedicated circuits
  • Wall access and finish restoration

Why choose Triple Play

  • Code-correct GFCI and AFCI protection
  • Dedicated circuits for appliances that need them
  • Correction of unsafe older wiring
  • Licensed, permitted work where required

Answers

Frequently asked questions

What is a GFCI outlet and where do I need one?

A GFCI outlet shuts off power instantly if it detects a ground fault, protecting against shock. Code requires them near water — kitchens, bathrooms, garages, outdoors, and similar locations. We install them where they belong.

Can you add outlets to a room?

Yes. We add outlets where you need them, running new wiring as required and making sure your panel can support the additional load.

What's the difference between GFCI and AFCI?

A GFCI protects people from shock in wet areas; an AFCI protects against arc faults that can cause fires, and is required on many living-space circuits. Modern homes often use both where code calls for them.

Why is my outlet warm or discolored?

That can indicate a loose or failing connection or an overloaded circuit — a genuine fire risk. Stop using it and have a licensed electrician inspect and replace it.

Do I need a dedicated circuit for an appliance?

Many high-draw appliances — like some kitchen equipment, window units, and EV chargers — need their own dedicated circuit to run safely without tripping. We can add one.
